just do grappling, honestly

2019-01-11 23:59:17 UTC

most fights end up on the ground anyway

2019-01-11 23:59:26 UTC

Grapping is good, I recommend that too

2019-01-11 23:59:53 UTC

Wrestlers are hard to take down, so bonus points if you do wrestling and grapping

2019-01-12 00:00:05 UTC

But ideally you want to stay standing

2019-01-12 00:00:12 UTC

@GingerSnaps yes a fight gym is a personal thing if it doesn't match your personality it won't work

2019-01-12 00:00:31 UTC

You choking out a guy on the streets, then his friends step in and start stomping out out

2019-01-12 00:00:35 UTC

you out*

2019-01-12 00:00:36 UTC

@GingerSnaps akido is good cause it just gives you the good foundation on taking punches and shit. You'll be fine with doing that and other stuff. It's merely how you take momentum from your opponent and handling your own

2019-01-12 00:00:50 UTC

1v1 grapping is op tho

2019-01-12 00:01:07 UTC

don't bother with akido

2019-01-12 00:01:20 UTC

judo, greco roman, and jitsu

2019-01-12 00:01:24 UTC

all you really need

2019-01-12 00:01:38 UTC

akido is great against other people doing akido, but that's about it

2019-01-12 00:01:58 UTC

@GingerSnaps boxing is also great for weight loss and getting you in overall better shape for training

2019-01-12 00:02:28 UTC

If you want to learn as much as possible in shorter time, you can do very well with just grapping and Muy Thai. Boxing is great too. Muy Thai is also a good striking art

2019-01-12 00:03:08 UTC

I like wrestling, Boxing, a little bit of kicking, and some BJJ

2019-01-12 00:03:22 UTC

@Reaper i don't really have a problem with weight loss. If anything i need to bulk up a little more. But i'm happy where i'm at at 180-185 and almost 6 foot. I just want more muscle mass and definition.

2019-01-12 00:03:29 UTC

those are all things i've done...didn't find much use for Kempo

2019-01-12 00:05:44 UTC

whatever works for you

2019-01-12 00:06:07 UTC

in my adult life i have never had to throw a punch to end an altercation, most have been settled after i head and arm throw somebody.

2019-01-12 00:06:15 UTC

@GingerSnaps ok well I don't think any martial arts will get you that but you sound like you are a good frame to start training

2019-01-12 00:06:20 UTC

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2019-01-12 00:06:28 UTC

I never had to fight anyone before either

2019-01-12 00:06:42 UTC

Adults just take verbal jabs at you

2019-01-12 00:06:43 UTC

@°°° if given only to pick one, which is the best one to learn

2019-01-12 00:06:47 UTC

and shit test you

2019-01-12 00:07:28 UTC

if you're living near the inner city, probably a good idea to know some shit or at least have some weapon on you

2019-01-12 00:07:31 UTC

just in case

2019-01-12 00:07:31 UTC

@Reaper i'm doing weight training for my arms and i have yet to start a squat routine for my legs and butt but i'll get there. Also want to start incorporating push ups and planks into my routine again. that's a good all around exercise.

2019-01-12 00:07:45 UTC

and Lifting alone and looking big makes you a harder target too

2019-01-12 00:07:53 UTC

@Unknowncrash grappling

2019-01-12 00:08:26 UTC

@°°° like martial arts, which type I mean

2019-01-12 00:08:35 UTC

Yeah I agree on grappling

2019-01-12 00:08:46 UTC

If you're 6ft tall and you lift, not many people are gonna fuck with you

2019-01-12 00:08:53 UTC

@GingerSnaps yea you can't go wrong with push ups, chin up are good for your whole upper body too

2019-01-12 00:08:57 UTC

and if you want to learn fighting, all the better

2019-01-12 00:09:04 UTC

You'd ruin people

2019-01-12 00:09:08 UTC

@Unknowncrash greco roman wrestling or jiujitsu

2019-01-12 00:09:21 UTC

Both really
