I would never rent a room but I know people sharing rent for $500/month.

My reasons for not moving out of my parents place: It's free, I have no expenses, it's a traditional environment where mom cooks and cleans and dad works and shit and they're a very loving family.

They pay for groceries and the bills.

I go to college.

Stay as long as it makes sense for you.

They've never asked me for rent, money to pay for the bills etc.

Ride it while it lasts but have your own hobbies

yeah - my parents are 50+ and have 0 hobbies - they're so unhappy
