Staying at home does more harm them good. Just stunts your growth, even if you're completely secluded and take care of yourself. It's best to get out and be on your own mentally. An unfamiliar roof over your head.

In other cultures people never move out, they just do a changing of the guard to the children. In the West people can't wait to move out and the rent is like 3x more

I would never rent a room but I know people sharing rent for $500/month.
