I know a friend's family who went off the grid and I hear from him once every year. His family bought land in Canada and basically live off of the land.

I feel like the Most Valuable skills you can learn are SHTF skills in the coming collapse of modernity

like bush craft skills and the such. growing your own food and making clothes.

I just know I need years of training and qualifications to be able to provide the best service I can to the people I will serve for the rest of my life.

I'm going for an associate of arts in Philosophy. The hope was to look for employment in a tech company as they apparently hire philosophy majors, though I'm starting to doubt my prospects. May need to switch course and pursue trade school because (I guess) it is the more practical option.
