@Sigma I've been debating switching from a power lifting reigment to a crossfit type regiment or simply giving up kickboxing/bjj and sticking to lifting.

2018-09-29 16:47:11 UTC

Same dude

2018-09-29 16:47:15 UTC

@Ryowama Ah, thank you! I will bother you then 😄

2018-09-29 16:47:29 UTC

Back to fapping.

2018-09-29 16:47:33 UTC

haha

2018-09-29 16:47:48 UTC

@Ryowama How do you keep busy now that you know about mgtow/rp?

2018-09-29 16:47:49 UTC

that's why I haven't worked out in a while, I feel like I have to choose only one and stick with it. Now do I want to only look tough, or do I want to actually be tough?

2018-09-29 16:47:58 UTC

he faps

2018-09-29 16:48:01 UTC

haha

2018-09-29 16:48:06 UTC

See fapping response.

2018-09-29 16:48:18 UTC

Gotta do what you gotta do

2018-09-29 16:48:29 UTC

no lie... I have been fapping less since learning mgtow/rp... is it just me? like, it just annoys me now sometimes

2018-09-29 16:48:38 UTC

I try to harness my sexual drive into work haha

2018-09-29 16:48:45 UTC

"transmutation" or whatever that is

2018-09-29 16:49:18 UTC

@Sigma I think if I lifted once or twice a week and sparred/practiced 1-2 days... that would be a nice middle ground

2018-09-29 16:49:28 UTC

I honestly don't give a fuck, I'm not really trying to impress that many people. Monkeys fap too in order to keep themselves healthy. I'm not much more than a smart monkey, so why not?

2018-09-29 16:49:55 UTC

I tried doing a 3 day lifting split with 2 days dedicated to martial arts classes

2018-09-29 16:50:01 UTC

thx btw

2018-09-29 16:50:03 UTC

It was still hard to do

2018-09-29 16:50:18 UTC

However, if you have that base foundation I think it's enough. I am not lifting to get super big though either nor do I compete in power lifting so once I hit my goals (500lb deadlift, 400lb back squat, 300lb bench, 200lb overhead press, 25 pullups), I would just be maintaining that or switching to a crossfit/mma regiment.

2018-09-29 16:50:30 UTC

Sexual transmutation, it's really nothing more than channeling energy towards something productive

2018-09-29 16:50:42 UTC

Yeah, true.

2018-09-29 16:51:36 UTC

When I did kempo in college, I used to do an Athlean-X program 5 days per week on top on karate

2018-09-29 16:51:40 UTC

I mean... to be ripped/powerful for fighting, do I need to be able to hit those goals I listed? not really haha

2018-09-29 16:51:52 UTC

That was the peak of my physical conditioning

2018-09-29 16:51:56 UTC

That's awesome.

2018-09-29 16:52:05 UTC

I don't think I can ever get back to that

2018-09-29 16:52:41 UTC

I was a fucking beast, but I lost it and been on and off in the gym for a couple of years

2018-09-29 16:53:40 UTC

I don't know where all the energy to be able to do all of that came from, I think it's mostly because I had a workout partner who taught me everything I know about fitness

2018-09-29 16:54:06 UTC

then he got a home gym and we don't work out together anymore, so I have to be more self reliant and self disciplined

2018-09-29 16:55:32 UTC

I would say focus on explosive movements and plyometric training

2018-09-29 16:56:13 UTC

You want to be fast AND transfer a lot of force

2018-09-29 16:58:19 UTC

If you build muscle, it won't necessarily go away if you only do martial arts. I think the muscles adapt in order to be more dense, faster, explosive

2018-09-29 17:03:07 UTC

I think the most important thing is: heavy compound lifts that shock the central nervous system to increase testosterone, inhibit estrogen and therefore increase muscle mass and increase lean body mass. If you eat low carbs (not good for mma/performance), high fats/medium protein and lift heavy/do hiit cardio... that's manageable. If you compete a lot and perform with high intensity all the time... I think you'd break your body down. So, I am more of the mind to focus on learning the basics to boxing/bjj and maintaining the base level of skill but focusing on a healthy physique.

2018-09-29 17:03:44 UTC

I am probably wrong though or that is just ONE way... as with mgtow, there are countless ways.

2018-09-29 17:04:14 UTC

I don't prefer that way... it just seems "best" and I feel "best" on it compared to doing more crossfit-type workouts and competing all the time.

2018-09-29 17:04:30 UTC

You might want to just focus on learning how to fight and forget about weightlifting for a while

2018-09-29 17:04:31 UTC

However, I'm also not on a level you're on with mma probably so I dunno.

2018-09-29 17:04:37 UTC

Yeah?

2018-09-29 17:04:41 UTC

You can weightlift at age 50 if you wanted to

2018-09-29 17:04:47 UTC

True
