@Sam Amari well i mean you could...
Most people are completely ignorant about their countries politics, or government. Let alone history
Just waiting for the collapse at this point, theres no reversing course imo
@KenneticEnergy Agreed 😄
If youre not stocking up on food, water, weapons and ammo you should. Have a full tank of gas always. Have a bug out bag ready to go
Anyone suggest some solid non-political/controversial youtube for science/engineering/fun?
pewdiepie is good for overall but he is pretty red pill
markiplier seems... blue pill as fuck 😦
@KenneticEnergy I'm a horrible prepper. I've been invested over 65% of my income into the stock market 😄
@machtyn same, except ive stayed out of the market mostly. As soon as im full time in my new career im going to prep as much as i can. If its not too late by then
Yeah, I know something is coming but I don't think a full out collapse will occur before 2020 and by then I'll have close to 125k saved/invested so I could bounce if everything collapses.
I rather follow the "financial independence retire early" model since I own 120 items in total and love the nomadic lifestyle.
I mean a collapse can take various forms, look at Venezuela right now. But regardless it helps to be prepared. Human nature is fragile and when panic sets in, people will become like the raiders in Fallout.
Once the draft card is pulled, I'm out of the country.
Yes, if we're in a Venezuela issue - the rest of the world is fucked BUT I will own large stocks in the top companies so unless they ALL fail... I'm not that worried.
if you want non political stuff check out real engineering. his channels pretty good
My cost of living is 10k-15k annually so in a collapse situation I'd be fine lol.
@shadowlessnexus Dude! Yes! I love him.
real life lore is good as well as
he does some awesome history stuff and whatnot
Yeah just be ready to bug out or shelter in place when it comes.
from what i know of history. post wwI germany is a decent picture of what it could look like
but when facing overwhelming force wouldn't being stationary be a death sentence? you know attrition
It wouldnt be unlike the events in the Zombie Survival Guide book. No communication, internet down, lack of food and running water
^that too
in fact there are plenty of spots in us without safe water already XD
@SFM_2046 depends on the situation, travel is risky too
You also have to take into account gas stations would quickly become targets and would run out of fuel at some point
but whats riskier bunking down or maybe getting the fuck away?
Oh having a bug out plan is great. But make sure its to a shelter or place you know is safe where you can hunker down for awhile
The key is waiting out the initial chaos, and only emerging when things have settled down
seems like anywhere other humans would go is fucked
Exactly lol. I'm planning on building my own bunker on my own plot of land away from major metropolitan areas
If we could have limited communication with other survivors, for an eventual meetup and starting new settlements that might be good.
seems like in that situation even if shit "calmed" down gonna need to get some people to rebuild.....of course it starts out with "asking" nicely
@SFM_2046 Yeah it would take awhile, but the first few days and weeks of the collapse are critical. Thats where youre going to see the most deaths
but more than likely something of future benefit would be promised for current commitment
It fucks with me sometimes when I think about a violent collapse.......
Im just curious what the government response would be, if they would hoard resources for themselves and go into exile, or crack down on the situation and institute martial law
I mean it's probably coming, I dont see how we avoid violence in the near future with how society is going
