compassion can lead to obsession and becoming obsessed in something gives that thing 'control' over you

2018-11-20 16:57:14 UTC

acc no i'm wrong

2018-11-20 16:57:26 UTC

that doesn't make sense mb

2018-11-20 16:57:39 UTC

all the instincts interact as well

2018-11-20 16:58:05 UTC

can't all these instincts be derived from one over-ruling instinct?

2018-11-20 16:58:21 UTC

isn't that instinct 'desire'

2018-11-20 16:58:39 UTC

compassion can engender hesitance n a disadvantageous way for example

2018-11-20 16:58:42 UTC

having a desire will create all of these things

2018-11-20 16:58:53 UTC

but what causes dessire?

2018-11-20 16:59:07 UTC

a need to feel better? feeling inadequate?

2018-11-20 16:59:15 UTC

you can be kind and compassionate and not be 'under control'

2018-11-20 16:59:25 UTC

sometimes it's not about being RP or BP just being a decent person

2018-11-20 17:00:01 UTC

i know morals don't really matter but would you rather go out remembered by a lot of people or remembered by none? eventually we will all be forgotten, but you know?

2018-11-20 17:00:08 UTC

n men desire is usually meant to seek pleasure... ie a vassopressin high

2018-11-20 17:01:12 UTC

not just men, every living thing wants to feel 'pleasure' - aka a postitve feeling. why do plants turn to face the sun? wait maybe 'a positive feelnig' isnt the absolute truth. isnt it just to survive

2018-11-20 17:01:20 UTC

wanting to survive fuels everythign

2018-11-20 17:01:32 UTC

and to survive longer you need to be in a posititve emotional state

2018-11-20 17:01:40 UTC

so that's where positive emotions come in

2018-11-20 17:01:49 UTC

n women it would b most likely seekin oxitocin

2018-11-20 17:02:15 UTC

yeah but there's a over-ruling principle that covers all of the things you're listing

2018-11-20 17:02:29 UTC

@JDB the human evolution is depending on the people, I guess some people discover their purpose in the life and want to acomplish it not for other, for themself first. But before this step, those people discovered a lot about themself and on the life. Like manage their emotions, because going on your own way to try something new it's really a hard think. People will always looking at u as a weird and foolish guy

2018-11-20 17:02:31 UTC

some pheromones in children can create similar chemical responses

2018-11-20 17:02:37 UTC

i agree with what you're saying but im trying to pinpoint a first principle i can build on

2018-11-20 17:03:22 UTC

@Shido good point

2018-11-20 17:03:47 UTC

the first principle is simple ... I live therfore I am... up to u after that๐Ÿ˜‰

2018-11-20 17:04:05 UTC

maybe in order to answer the question we should consider the actions and motives baby have - so when your logical thought process isn't swayed by emotion so much

2018-11-20 17:04:42 UTC

babies r all instinct..;. bad place to start

2018-11-20 17:05:10 UTC

tbh, attempting to find a first principle is stupid because you can never truly find one that satisfies everythign - i guess we have to find one that satisfies as many as possible and accept it

2018-11-20 17:05:47 UTC

thats why i said after that its up to u๐Ÿ˜‰

2018-11-20 17:05:56 UTC

isn't an 'instinct' just the pre-programmed logical thought process from ur lizard brain?

2018-11-20 17:06:20 UTC

there is no logic in the lizard brain

2018-11-20 17:06:21 UTC

@ziyauren yeah lol i'm coming to that conclusion slowly but surely

2018-11-20 17:06:51 UTC

there has to be logic? isn't instinct just logic that's hidden in the subconsious?

2018-11-20 17:07:07 UTC

logic comes only from your forbrain and was the last part developed

2018-11-20 17:07:24 UTC

how did 'instinct' get there then?

2018-11-20 17:07:31 UTC

where did instinct to eat come from

2018-11-20 17:07:47 UTC

maybe it came from beig logical and knowing that in order to survive i had to eat

2018-11-20 17:08:03 UTC

desire it's linked to the feeling of be happy/prouf of what you are doing I guess. And some people have the motivation and discipline to do the same thing again and again to go further. You are not a human living when u have no more desire to go further

2018-11-20 17:08:16 UTC

its all aabout the development of neural pathways.... lizard brain ddoesn't have any... why its all called instinct

2018-11-20 17:08:45 UTC

@Shido exactly - so isn't desire a 'key' trait that makes any living thing living?

2018-11-20 17:09:33 UTC

the crisis is known for the athletes
