Think about it, do you really women openly get paid less? Of course not. There is no "Hiring a doctor - men - 1500; women - 1000". It is as they say actually an "earnings" gap. Basically how much women as a totall earn compared to men. And women as a whole tend to go for jobs that pay less, even in the same professions women work less hours.

Women are less like to work overtime, they take more sick days, and they take maternity leave

A fucking great example is how 90% of nurses are women. But even so 30% of all professional papers on nursing topics are done by men.
