Market-wise; surgeon is obviously best but ML engineer in whatever industry you desire (genetics) is definitely good too. You'll want a BS/MS in Computer Science if you want to be senior level. You could go with just BS but it will be harder to make 250k+ at FAANG type companies.

my dad being a surgeon i have actual practice and 3 solo operations of joint replacement BUT its no good being the best in whatever if your kid ends up like me being with chronic disease obstructing vision due to neglect

@Pacific_Twist We're at a time in history where there are unlimited options. Looking within yourself to truly find what would make you happy is the tough part. I am struggling with that currently so this topic is great for me lol.
