to get into those places, it's about who you know and how you know them
like u need perfect grades, and talent
oh - so say you dont know anyone
how hard is it then
i only got my job at google doing validation engineering because i used to smoke weed and do shrooms with one of the department managers
lol
i don't have a degree, but i have the experience
but not enough to make me stand out
at yahoo, it's because i used to play fighting games with the site director
yeah - how hard would it be for me to get an internship at one of those companies? i've got decent grades
damn thats interesting
internships are tricky because at those places they do put you in a very shit lpace
almost like you're typecasted
as in you'll only get "intern" type work
whats the process like to get in
and they'll dangle the carrot of "full time employee" in front of you to get you to do shit work with shit hours
true - i dont think i even want to work at any company because my dream is to freelance for a living - but the interview process sounds fun
if you say so
lol
i think that if you look at it as a free game it's fun
you should watch "silicon valley" it's almost a 100% accurate representation of those aforementioned companies
no i meant the interviewing part
is it on netflix
most people interviewing you have spergs and ZERO personality
i don't think so
but you can torrent it
it's an hbo show
lol, i'm in anime mode rn so that's why im optimistic
ty
that's ok
keep that energy
just focus it
doesn't matter where you draw inspiration from as long as you channel it correctly
yeah, i usually learn programming while i'm excited
any advice on how to channel it?
nope
what works for me won't work for you and vice versa
we're different people
is there an over arching principle tho?
sounds like you're on the right path and you're committed to growth
