Fact is, the west has already failed, people just don't know it yet. Just like the last century of the Roman Empire and others before it. Will we see some ups and several more downs sure, but it's already over. Not to sound negative, history just proves this, there's no way around it. We're definitely living in the decline. Well, you need to red pill enough men. While we do have the internet now and other tech other civs didnt have, it doesn't really preclude a collapse as "most" people think. People I talk to always think it won't happen to us because of our tech, but that's what every civ before us thought as well. Each of those empires were the most powerful and most advanced at its time.

i've written a book on the subject m thinkin of modifying for this w/mb some collaberation.... mb i'll try to find the old manuscript tommorrow...

Problem is people always think: we have this thing they don't have: be it drones, satellites, advanced weaponry, but people don't realize those things have little to do with preventing a collapse. It has more to do with internal factors which can be exploited by external factors, but even that's not absolutely necessary.
My personal theory is that the reason we keep failing as civilizations and why history is cyclical is that we're limited by our DNA from a macro perspective. That's why i believe transhumanism is the only real permanent solution.

your 4 basic human behaviours r survival, reproduction, social advancement, and hope... all human endeavor is based in one or more of these behaviours

the four basic reproductive factors r the hypergamous/dominance instincts and the r and k reproductive strategies

the four elements that could alter these r life extension, removing women as reproductive gatekeepers, automation, and extraterrestrial resource acquisition...

Problem is our current state of biodiversity leads to the current situation (as it's always been) so there always be more "losers" than "winners". People can be losers because of economic reasons etc. of cource, but genes do play a huge role. If we could make people more capable by DNA alterations, maybe we can escape the cycle, but aside from that I don't think we can escape the cycle. Diversity in DNA will always leads there to be inequality in iq/skill and from I can see from history, "losers" always outbreed "winner", which always is the reason civs collapse eventually.
So without altering DNA, I don't think we can escape the cycle, no matter where we go, the tech we have or which policies we implement.

No Justin, winner can outbreed losers, the problem is civilisations keep creating environment where losers can breed more, like modern day with welfare, if a country implemented a system of a parents requiring a licence to have a kid, then losers wouldn’t be able to reproduce as much and it’ll be like nature when loser just die out and winners breed

@VenomousHawk86 Nah, you have to zoom out more, a more macro historical perspective. Because of our biodiversity, there will always be some "revolutionary" or people who believe what they consider "equality". History shows it's always been this way. Even if you create a system as you suggest, it's inevitable there will be some people somewhere in some time that considers your point of view "unacceptable".
