closest i ever got was a short 9 month fling playing league with my ex gf back in 2014

I played cs:go when it came out and had a blast with it but its just not the same as the old 1.6 and source days playing lan parties and getting online with a clan

when matchmaking wasnt a thing and you'd arrange matches over phpbb forums and irc channels

csgo wasnt very popular when it first came out people were still playing 1.6, i think valve adding in cosmetics and skins into csgo made it popular

i suggest you watch videos on the changes and balances made to cs:go since launch its been quite the journey and is a lot more than cosmetics and skins....i don't even play the game anymore i'm just telling you valve have put a decent amount of effort into it...above and beyond anything bliz are capable of in their wildest dreams
