A lot of people work on their laptops while being offline, the demand for a consistent internet connection is not as high as you seem to think, even though it would make a lot of things more convenient

They would have to be extremely expensive to be offline-capable, and the more competitively-priced ones would just run off a proprietary chatbot that runs on another server and cut CPU costs for individual units.

It also is basic practice for troubleshooting as well. You won't need to diagnose every single sex bot if it gives you the wrong answers.

Technology does not practically advance in a linear fashion, it contorts and contracts and curls up around itself in regards to practicality. It's why we don't have flying cars.

They'd fund the operation and backend the same way digital media always has: selling adspace on your sexbot's brain. It would literally shill at you and recommend products in its off-time.
