and again we aren't really talking about the voters ID that is the problem, we are talking about the final counter.
@ARockRaider the individual will be able to check their vote was checked in the system after voting to make sure that they did it right
and if the system lies to you?
how would you know?
You also have the problem with companies that facilitate the networks being hacked and then copying the values.
@ARockRaider the real question is if this is a harder system to lie about than the current one
which the multi factor would be
currently you just show up and go and have no way to check
no way to check afterwards if it was counted
because in the current one we *should* have people hand counting the votes in front of reps form every side, if there is a miss count there is someone who is more likely to be upset about that miss count right there.
Just use bitcoin to vote duh
in the last mid term eleciton there was litteraly a black women who was caught and tried for destorying republican ballots in florida
So much for no voter fraud
the entire place was complicit in the fraud
you think there are not more of that happening?
so you send in your own reps to watch the vote count at all the poll stations in that area, if someone has a problem with more eyes on the box they need to be investagted.
there are also people who go around door to door picking up peoples ballots, you think they are not destorying the ones they do not like in california? just kidding, they already have gotten caught multiple times
again that is not what i'm talking about, that needs to be delt with as well.
the voteing must be done on a site where reps form any of the people on the ballot can be there and watch to be sure that nothing is funny.
and the box should be transported in their sight at all times.
you are advocateing for a system where it is even harder to keep track of the votes and it is vulnerable to interference form almost anywhere.
do you think for any amount of time that the US election wouldn't inspire every hacker on the planet to try their hand at changeing something?
not true at all, the multifactor security would be more secure than the current system for sure. Do you not understand how multifactor authentication works?
i can explain it if not
that is not hostile
that is me asking an honest question
you are talking about haveing the votes being counted on a computer that is online yes?
correct
how do you check that it is running the right software?
and how do I?
more than likely, just how current voting systems are counted by the county, there would be a more decentralized multifactor way to vote
that doesn't fill me with confidence.
how do you protect this computer form online attacks?
i think you do not understand how hacking works
i think you think that it is some mythical beast that can do anything
a bogieman who cannot be stopped
every computer is vulnerable on some level, and we are talking about something the everyone in the world would want to change.
all you would have to do is get the right single bit to flip and bam, you win.
in order to be able to change the votes, the hacker, once in the system, would have to know the pin, that is not saved, and only the person who cast it to vote, to check and see if the vote was cast, and to change it, add another layer of check, such as security questions, ect, this makes it impossible to change even when the hacker has ability to the system
that is the power of dual factor and multifactor authentication
i'm not talking about changeing a single persons vote, i'm talking about getting into the main database and just replaceing that with your own.
or something on that level.
