The challenge is that in such small geographic areas by comparison, new dictators simply arise and replace their former heads of state.

2019-12-14 06:16:12 UTC

And that often this has served US interests.

2019-12-14 06:16:34 UTC

and that worked because the area wasn't the stronghold of a religion that frowns upon the very idea of personal choice, much less democracy

2019-12-14 06:16:49 UTC

our sort of system needs a strong desire to take on some christian influenced ideas. if the people reject that, it will fail. it's like with our current lefties, they reject our founding principles so they're in direct odds with our entire democracy, they want to burn it to the ground

2019-12-14 06:18:28 UTC

they reflexively fight it

2019-12-14 06:18:36 UTC

Not necessarily. The modern criticism of the progressive elements of the Democratic party is their gravitation towards care a fairness which manifests into socialist proposals. The pernicious irony being that such systems require the creation of authoritarian governments to for equal distribution, which inevitably gives way to corruption.

2019-12-14 06:19:21 UTC

i really don't agree with that interpretation of the western left

2019-12-14 06:19:27 UTC

no, the 'fairness' is a cloaked greed

2019-12-14 06:19:41 UTC

Theres nothing caring about getting someone fired over a hat

2019-12-14 06:19:47 UTC

the fairness is a trick to get socialism in the door

2019-12-14 06:20:27 UTC

socialism is very attractive to greedy people, they get hooked on the idea that they can take other people's stuff legally

2019-12-14 06:20:34 UTC

Theres nothing fair about ripping wealth out of a starving white family's pockets to hand over to upper middle class minorities.

2019-12-14 06:20:56 UTC

right

2019-12-14 06:20:59 UTC

They care and are fair in so far as you are on their side

2019-12-14 06:21:17 UTC

the moment theres a sniff of disagreement you are on the chopping block

2019-12-14 06:21:30 UTC

you can be an old white guy and they'll gladly pick you over minorities as a candidate for president

2019-12-14 06:21:43 UTC

their 'fair' is bullshit

2019-12-14 06:22:04 UTC

it's just a selling point

2019-12-14 06:22:23 UTC

"Care and Fairness" being the categorical motivations of progressive leftists as cited in Jonathan Haidt's works. It's important to understand the moral foundations of someone's ideology to recognize why they defend their beliefs.

2019-12-14 06:22:47 UTC

who told Haidt what their real motivations were?

2019-12-14 06:22:54 UTC

THEY DID

2019-12-14 06:22:57 UTC

wtf

2019-12-14 06:23:12 UTC

No, it's a characterization of political motivations based on beliefs.

2019-12-14 06:23:13 UTC

Everyone thinks they're caring and fair

2019-12-14 06:23:21 UTC

"care and fairness" doesn't sound like a progressive thing, it sounds like what they WANT you to think they think.

2019-12-14 06:23:42 UTC

based on what beliefs? how do you know what their real beliefs are?

2019-12-14 06:23:58 UTC

they openly say they don't want the system to be fair to people who have done better then others.

2019-12-14 06:24:16 UTC

and they don't care about the people they often leave behind.

2019-12-14 06:24:23 UTC

I'm speaking from a moral foundations theory. Those of the progressive mindset value care and fairness, while those of the more centrist and conservative mindset value loyalty, authority, sanctity and liberty.

2019-12-14 06:24:31 UTC

do the progressives voluntarialy give their money to the taxman, over and above what they owe? it's a lie

2019-12-14 06:24:36 UTC

No, care and fairness are the hallmark of your classical liberal.

2019-12-14 06:24:44 UTC

centrists

2019-12-14 06:24:50 UTC

and center leftists

2019-12-14 06:25:16 UTC

The goal of the progressives is not fairness, those are stepping stones to having lots of power

2019-12-14 06:25:30 UTC

Agreed. There's more variance and I'm generalizing to explain the undertones of their points.

2019-12-14 06:25:39 UTC

lol, really @Bringerof_D does that manifest in their everyday lives?

2019-12-14 06:25:47 UTC

the left have no care for it, they just want a flip in the system where they think they'll end up at the top because they truly believe they are at the bottom.

2019-12-14 06:26:17 UTC

it does, and it manifests in their political choices

2019-12-14 06:26:42 UTC

buy their political selling pamphlet text, go for it. i, instead, watch what they really do

2019-12-14 06:27:03 UTC

Classical liberals

2019-12-14 06:27:15 UTC

the ones that want open competition, actual meritocracy
