Nah, federal holidays and Congress spending time with families
20 or so Democrats would have had to vote no to get a different result
Can't knock em on being human
As it went, 2 voted no and 1 voted present
Nvm
Put it in perspective - The Senate has 53 Republicans and 47 Dems.
and one additional voted no in round 2
To get a majority to remove Trump from office - you would need *19* Republicans to flip on the President.
Good luck with that.
for the 2/3 necessary
I thought it was simple majority?
Ohhh
supermajority
Nope, 2/3 majority
66 Senators need to be in favor
Different for the senate?
Than the house?
House is simple majority, Senate is 2/3 majority.
Either Way it's still a Win win.
Checks and Balances are a bitch
Even better
That's them checks and balances the Democrats were waving in our faces all day lol
Pelosi should not have gone with it without bipartisanship
Get checked, get balanced
@SuperHeroDeluxe what's that word?
Bipartisanship
Is it magic?
A pew research study shows that the democrats have been moving further and further left.

In one sense its a shame because its driving the country further apart and their values are bad for the country. In another sense its a good thing because its helping to bring attention to the fact that the two parties we have now are both dying and no longer actually represent the people.
it's a typo, i missed a keypress, if it give you joy, your life sucks
@Troye - Be cautious of statistical outliers. Radicals pull that metric to the screaming left.
lol
In reality, the party is fractioned with radicals, moderates, establishment, and centrists
*Fractured
True
Think if we get a new political party. What color would it fly ? My bets on yellow
