the horror

2019-12-19 05:32:59 UTC

What does Russia have to do with us? Unless it's a treatied Ally I don't see any reason to care what Russia is doing

2019-12-19 05:33:08 UTC

same

2019-12-19 05:33:16 UTC

Not my country

2019-12-19 05:33:23 UTC

Who is arguing against that in here?@randomNPCno3

2019-12-19 05:33:59 UTC

@Troye - I'll concede that the military bolsters an immense budget that demands more auditing to ensure funding is allocated responsibly to necessary programs. There's alot of Fraud, Waste, and Abuse that absolutely should be held to account. However, it's a separate argument. It's better to highlight the budgetary cuts and shortfalls to programs that require funding rather than pointing a finger at the military industrial complex.

2019-12-19 05:34:06 UTC

The hypothetical person that would claim we're traitors

2019-12-19 05:36:18 UTC

Honestly I don't get why we're friends with the Saudis but Russia is bad

2019-12-19 05:36:30 UTC

Fucking auditing by people who dont know what the military needs. ffs

2019-12-19 05:36:47 UTC

I would rather buy oil from the Russians if we have to buy it at all

2019-12-19 05:36:58 UTC

@dizzy So germany then?

2019-12-19 05:37:01 UTC

Yeah no

2019-12-19 05:37:26 UTC

Don't know what you're getting at

2019-12-19 05:38:08 UTC

Saudi's crude output is considerably higher than Russia's - we've also been trade partners with em since before the Cold War.

2019-12-19 05:38:40 UTC

China is definitely a bigger problem than Russia. They're spreading all over the world

2019-12-19 05:38:42 UTC

@Louis - Internal auditing - more from entities that understand the budget such as the IG

2019-12-19 05:39:11 UTC

How the fuck would that work?

2019-12-19 05:39:18 UTC

Oh you dont need that ammo right now

2019-12-19 05:39:20 UTC

Saudi keeps its position at the top because of us knocking their rivals out of the game

2019-12-19 05:39:27 UTC

You need a missle right now

2019-12-19 05:39:36 UTC

but only one

2019-12-19 05:39:47 UTC

Same way it normally does. Having a designated entity review the fiscal year budget allocations and determine which areas are irresponsibly spending to maintain their annual quota.

2019-12-19 05:40:12 UTC

Thats called congress

2019-12-19 05:40:14 UTC

Or it would be

2019-12-19 05:40:18 UTC

So fail

2019-12-19 05:41:07 UTC

Nah, this is more practical application. Alot of military orgs have departments that are provided with an annual budget. That org or unit will furiously purchase bullshit before the fiscal year close-out to ensure they receive the same quantity the following year.

2019-12-19 05:41:51 UTC

Point is - you can absolutely increase internal auditing to ensure a healthy budget is being promoted

2019-12-19 05:42:04 UTC

Having an audit every year would mean less research into expiremental tech and less stuff altogether

2019-12-19 05:42:27 UTC

We had shit like this is 1880

2019-12-19 05:42:34 UTC

And we suffered for it

2019-12-19 05:42:55 UTC

Mauser action? nope

2019-12-19 05:42:55 UTC

Not so much - there's entire divisions dedicated to R&D. I would advocate for financing auditing agencies to reclaim lost funds. Could easily allocate that funding to more relevant projects, or scale back to other govt programs.

2019-12-19 05:42:57 UTC

Single load

2019-12-19 05:43:06 UTC

Cheaper because muh audit

2019-12-19 05:43:43 UTC

This literally made the us less advanced than the rest of the world

2019-12-19 05:43:51 UTC

When it was used

2019-12-19 05:44:03 UTC

It's more like taking that 80K a Supply Battalion is dumping on last-minute bullshit to maintain their funding so it would be transferred to a forward deployed combat unit in need of equipment

2019-12-19 05:45:17 UTC

I double checked and I couldn't find an accurate representation of our spending. However, I did see that on paper social security, medicare, etc. make up a chunk that odds are is bigger than deffence spending. One of the major problems is where all the money is actually going. Money is being siphoned out of social security to pay for everything else. Each of the major chunks of spending needs reform.

2019-12-19 05:46:50 UTC

@Mersenne I agree the argument could be worded better. But its really simple. We're spending way too much. And that includes millitary. The fact stands that our millitary is larger than the next seven largest countries combined.

lol no\
