which is a big problem
when Obama was in office, you would hear FOX news every day talking about the deficit, but now that its worse than ever, you dont hear a peep

Trump still doesn't get to set the budget, congress does; he let the governmeant stay shut down for three months, the longest in history, over the budget
Trump is not a dictator with control over the budget

He did try to not overspend though
The democrats wouldn't even provide a tiny amount of funding for the wall
like literally it's less than 1% of the budget
And they wouldn't do it, entirely due to politics
Nor is it unique to the Republicans
and it's for one year
The problem with the Dems is that they want to give more benefits to their future voters.

They bring up the deficit when it is beneficial for them

The difference is Trump has no control over the budget, vs. the Democrats controlling the house and senate
