you claimed they blamed the famine on free markets... that's just demonstrably false
look, I already said i'm not gonna watch the hour of chatter to find the points that made me distrust them, and no it wasn't an open "the free markets caused this" but there was very much shade of that flavor in there somewhere.
if you trust them you are more then welcome to do so, this is just one point where i stopped trusting them.
what, pointing out a free market philosophy a hundred fucking years ago wasn't flawless is "shadey?!"
jesus christ
couldn't just out and say "eh, not for me, I don't like em" you have to be fucking melodramatic and say they've "betrayed your trust" and reach for the fucking stars for a reason
let me ask you this then, if the "extra credits" series is open to bias how can the "extra history" series made by the same people not be open to the same bias?
because one is explaining and speculating about material that is far more open to interpretation
their history isn't the most *extensive* material on the subject, as such I myself have found where their clips have gaps in detail, but not to any ideological advantage or disadvantage
if you say so, but that's not enough for me.
you literally pitched a fucking fit because they had one criticism of century old economic theory
I don't remember what it was exactly, that's why i was gonna go back and relisten to it.
I know something they said had upset me at the time and i don't remember what it was.
what, they're not open and honest enough about the clear negative consequences of socialism for you?
"I don't remember what it was exactly"
could have been a single thing i took out of context, might have been several things that all added up.
I don't remember, but I don't care enough to go back and check now.
it's nearly an hour of listening to something and i don't want to spend that time.
christ, "I don't like the new narrator" would have been a more substancial complaint
one I would have agreed with
I liked the first one more
the diffrence of narrator didn't really bother me at all.
also the addition of a cat helped
Don't mean to jump in on this, but @Jokerfaic is being kind of a whiny bitch in this conversation
It really wouldn't have gotten to me if his complaint wasn't built on fucking air
I mean it's a personall reason, so it doesn't need to be build on anything other then what i say it needs to be.
likely its built on several things includeing how i was feeling at the time about the topics touched on.
your original claim was that they just threw free market capitalism under the bus and blamed it for the Irish famine, that's just not true
Dude, @ARockRaider totally said he'd go back over the material and see if he still felt the same way about it
That's pretty generous
"ARockRaiderToday at 10:28 PM
was their irish famen one that made me stop trusting them.
they wanted to say that somehow it was free markets that caused said famen."
that's what i said at first, and yes that does sound a bit to much like that was the only reason i stopped trusting them.
but i have cleared that up in that there are several reasons all kind of interlaced INCLUDEING how they handle their extra credits series.
tbh I'm not interested in what you do or don't trust, I'm just saying their histories are, so far, objective, and your refutation was based on a claim that just isn't true
and I dissagree.
and now we are right back to where we started only i have been more clear then I was at the first.
motherfucker I just listened to the section where they brought up free market economics in my car
oh, that and now i'm NOT willing to go back and try and find my reasoning.
why must you cuss at me?
because you're being a mealymouthed fucking contrarian bitch. You're literally founding your refutation on a fabrication
taking the dissenting side of the argument just because its fucking there
@Jokerfaic you're just being impatient
