and what is more important to you? taxing the profit out of an employer or then being able to hire more people? what do you think would be better for the poor?

2020-02-02 09:47:52 UTC

i mean to be fair i don't necessarily know if corporate taxes are good, however i would prefer to just change the way investment and ownership is handled

2020-02-02 09:48:24 UTC

I can agree with you that big corp is bad, but guess what big corp takes care of itself!

2020-02-02 09:48:46 UTC

i would just prefer to have most investment into large enterprises be state directed

2020-02-02 09:49:01 UTC

if left alone a big corp once it over grows itself will just die and be picked apart by other smaller groups.

2020-02-02 09:49:27 UTC

please point me to a government run program that does it's job well with out cost over runs.

2020-02-02 09:49:35 UTC

with a mandated share of capital stock for a labor organization representing labor within the firm holding at least as much as the conventional stock held by private proprietors

2020-02-02 09:49:47 UTC

"that does it's job well with out cost over runs"

2020-02-02 09:49:49 UTC

what do you mean by that

2020-02-02 09:50:14 UTC

how about a road department that has good roads with out being over budget?

2020-02-02 09:50:40 UTC

a brige that was built early and cheaper the was quoted while being better then promised?

2020-02-02 09:50:44 UTC

well again i would say that liberal governments are inefficient by design

2020-02-02 09:51:07 UTC

so why do you want the governments running things?

2020-02-02 09:51:10 UTC

and corporations here would not be equivalent to the sort of government programs you're talking about

2020-02-02 09:51:17 UTC

i want the government to be more efficient

2020-02-02 09:51:32 UTC

not gonna happen, the government has no REASON to be more efficient.

2020-02-02 09:51:39 UTC

we could start by scrapping congress and replacing the president with an elected monarch

2020-02-02 09:52:02 UTC

would you be ok when Trump gets elected to that spot?

2020-02-02 09:52:14 UTC

or would you whine about him being all powerfull?

2020-02-02 09:52:20 UTC

certainly not my first choice but i'd take it

2020-02-02 09:52:45 UTC

sure, well about half of the US wouldn't, they couldn't even take him for 4 years being the president.

2020-02-02 09:53:02 UTC

sure and that's part of the problem with the system

2020-02-02 09:53:33 UTC

so let me ask you something, because we aint getting anywhere here.

why does the owner of a bussness owe it to their employees?

2020-02-02 09:53:59 UTC

they owe it to the nation

2020-02-02 09:55:04 UTC

so lets say I own a transport truck that i bought by saveing up my own money, and I deside insted of driveing it myself i'm gonna hire someone to drive it.
why should that hireling get ownership of the truck I bought myself?

2020-02-02 09:55:42 UTC

because that is what you are saying, just on a larger scale.

2020-02-02 09:56:54 UTC

how about a chair factroy? I started out just building the chairs myself but i bought better tools and now demand is outstriping my abilty to build the chairs so I hire someone.
why should they own part of my workshop?

2020-02-02 09:57:55 UTC

how do i contact a mod?

2020-02-02 09:58:11 UTC

would a mod be able to jump into the long walls pls

2020-02-02 09:58:20 UTC

no idea, not here.

2020-02-02 09:59:28 UTC

@Kingy200 is unable to access the us politics and either has his rank bugged or banned for no reason, so if a mod could msg him that would be appriciated

2020-02-02 09:59:34 UTC

thank you - the chef

2020-02-02 09:59:55 UTC

hmm... best i can offer is "check the rules for advice"

2020-02-02 10:00:24 UTC

@ARockRaider depends on how much you own

2020-02-02 10:00:50 UTC

why does it matter how much I own? why should I be forced to give my equpment to people i just hired?

2020-02-02 10:00:52 UTC

at a certain level labor and the state should get a share, to ensure that capital is not used against their interests

2020-02-02 10:01:20 UTC

because the degree to which capital is concentrated affects the degree to which your firm becomes an institution with political power

2020-02-02 10:02:08 UTC

well here is how you protect yourself form anything any employer could ever do to you, save around 6 months of expences, if you employer does something you don't llike, leave you have 6 months to find another job or even make one yourself.

2020-02-02 10:02:46 UTC

if you want to talk about capital being used against an employees interests take a look at what unions have become.

2020-02-02 10:03:29 UTC

and what you are talking about isn't much better then how shareholders are now, might even be worse.

2020-02-02 10:04:06 UTC

how would you even fire someone in that situation?
