how is that not stright up vote buying?
introducing a UBI to the US isnt vote buying
how is it not though
Because he's going to take $1200 first in order to give you $1000
like if I told someone "vote for me and ill give you $100 every month for the next 4 years" i would go to jail for a very long time.
Well really, his stated long-term goal was to replace all the other safety net programs with the Freedom Dividend
But it wasn't victim-focused enough, I think
That's why he didn't get much support. I think he mistakenly believes in actual equality
ok fine, but we all know that would never happen.
they would introduce this thing first (will never call it freedom anything) and then 'try' to remove the other programs.
Yeah, in practice that's how it would have gone
@TheGhostAgent
But milo is a white supremacist lol
He ran the fucking gamut from "Alt Lite" to full nazi to Now I want the libs to respect me by leaking calls with nazis

UNLIMITED IMPEACHMENT!!!!!!!
> Shunning socialism and communism like Nazism
I'd written previously that part of the problem is that people are motivated by emotion, and while the death count of commies and socialists is far higher, the optics of Nazism are ultimately what scares people away from it. So, we need to figure out a way to make it *appear* scary through visuals and visual language. What's going on in Venezuela and China atm works towards that end.

Memes also help that cause
There is a simple way to make socialism look bad.
Associate it with thivery.
@Jerm70 so.... tell the truth?
@SilverKestral Yes.
Its the lower upper class wanting to kill the upper upper class out of envy.
I mean, that works in terms of moral shaming, but in my experience, people get defensive with it, cuz you're basically calling them thieves and no one likes that. So ... as far as that's concerned, you need a gentler approach. Cuz if someone is starving, they don't care about laws and morals. They'll steal to feed their kids if they have to, so you have to show them how they can live better under capitalism without feeling like you're taking something away from them.
Never believe politicians. They do not care about people. They’re glorified mafia.

Socialism, literally mob rule
Democracy, literally mob rule
@Marushia Dark You can't reason with a socialist about why socialism is bad because the ends justify the means.
I remember that story, when they started "cleanup" of those homes they didn't even give the people the chance to take their stuff out of them and didn't give the guy a chance to show them how to unlock the casters so they weren't dammaged.
least that's what the story said.
funny how now that same city is letting the homeless slum it up in much worse setups ratehr then then those little homes that didn't even look bad.
bet they would still distroy such tiny homes still, because then those people wouldn't need the city to 'save' them.
@Jerm70 Hence why I rely on what I call the Trade Principle, wherein you offer someone something better than what they have in order to get them to quit. So like the way you get rid of the post office is to build FedEx and UPS and DHL and Amazon, which we all know work better. People turn to the govt cuz they feel they have no better option.

The other thing to do is make it personal for them. You wanna abolish private property, ok, let's start with yours. Give me half of all your stuff, and I'll take it down to the local homeless shelter. "Oh, no, no, no," they'll reply. "That's *personal* property. I meant *private* property, as in like a private business owner."
Oh, ok. So what do you do for a living if you don't mind my asking? "Oh, I own my own business." No you don't! "Wh-what do you mean? Of course I do." No, you said you wanted to abolish all private property, which means you don't own your own business, your employees do. THEY'RE the boss and have as much say in it as you do, if not more, in fact, cuz they make the majority. "Oh, well, that's not true, I value my employees and listen to their input and treat them well."
Yeah, ok, but that's not what you're advocating. Let's put a union in your shop and see if you still like it. "Oh, no, no, no, I put up the money and take the risk, so I should keep it." Exactly!
Make it personal for these people! Show them they don't *really* care about their principles, they just want their rules to apply to *other* people.
quite sure most of these kinds of people are NOT business owners.
"I'm in favor of open borders and we need to take in more refugees." Excellent! Here's Muhammad and his twelve brothers, they've just come from Syria and are looking for a place to stay, so I told them that you're very pro-refugee and they can stay with you.
"Oh, um ... sorry, I can't I ..." Yeah, uh-huh.
That's flawed because they would admit that they are flawed and that's why we need socialism.
