Its the same reason the NHS clings onto doctors

Even though doctors (by right/law) should not be entitled to a public pension

no nhs people get final salary pensions

my aunt works in the nhs .. shes got a final salary pension

also she get it at 55 .. and thats when she can retire too

she works on the mental wards

That is the same for large chunks of the public sector (that put in lifetime careers)

I know another lady who in her older age (worked private all her life in the airline industry) got a job which she was only at a few months in the council doing admin, but she got a really good pension out of it

But yea there are private hospitals, and the general reason on why they are staffed is more down to locale than anything, in terms of pay, perks, and pensions the public sector is still more beneficial overall 🤔

I would say more people on private who can afford it the better

Which is fine, the point is the more people on private the more the calls of "well I don't use the NHS so I don't want to pay for it" will increase

and its not like the US because in the US they have to do a lot of admin to check if you can receive medicare

In the NHS which is basically a huge rationing service it doesn't lead to huge benefits.

The issue is they aint rationing

People expect the NHS to do everything because "my taxes pay you" or "I got told its free here"

even if all of the top 20% get private healthcare theres still not enough people to get rid of the nhs... and even those 20% .. most of them will still want to keep the nhs

The reality is people seem to expect a private level service out of a state rationing system.

If individuals abuse that service it ruins it for everyone

Abuse doesn't factor into the NHS as an entire system at all.

The NHS simply is a system where they go "here's a budget" and then try and treat everyone based on that budget which is the cart before the horse compared to private systems.

It definitely does, I was literally looking at the abortion statistics earlier and that shows a clear level of abuse at NHS directed services

Which basically fund 99% of abortions

Its the same reason why the NHS will try you on less effective but more cost effective drugs before it'll upgrade you to better drugs.
