The doctorate part at least
it would be politically painful
but we need to sort out the incentives here
is that still the case though? I thought brown ended education grants... or might have been DC
Abolish the GP system, it's a quasi-private system
i'm ok with a mixture of public and private
what's the argument that this implamentation is bad?
I'm okay with it if it's planned - not if it's a hold back from 70 years ago
Docs get paid per seen patient
right, so is it a remaining part of pre-nhs?
Yeah
ok, then yeah, it needs to be reconsidered
Hence why a go practice is officially a 'private practice'
Go is gp lol
again, i'm fine with private practices
even if they provide NHS service
hmm apparently the average wait time for a knee replacement is longer under private insurance than NHS
yeah
I'm all for private. Just it was how we roped doctors in a the birth of the NHS
@wacka what's the root cause of that? is it some delay in getting the bone replacement? or is it a backlog?
because not all doctors practise privately on top of the nhs work they do
ah hang on... Im just reading this weird graph wrong 😛
So like, 2 local practices merged so they didn't have to rent 2 buildings - now people have to travel further and get less time with a doc to maximise profit
one line is NHS wait time, one bar is private cost
So so many wladfa
I must say, the NHS practise I was with when I lived near Coventry was fantastic
so knee replacement is the most expensive.. even more than hip replacement :/
because of perminent mental health issues, they treated me extremely well
Kinda makes sense wacka
the one i'm with now around MK is awful
Knee is more complicated joint
Also one would want to explore all the reasons for why it would be more expensive
but as we know, price is a complex thing
There is also a treatment gap between men and women.
Women get priority service
Imagine my shock
Which I'm fine with
Just don't claim equality
I would be fine ...
yes
