A truck on wires would be cheaper than a train or conventional truck

after having to build a massive network of high powered sturdy electric cables to every major road in the entire country

i also think that without dedicated lanes your truckes wont do so well

They take very significant detours to avoid passenger train traffic and other trains

You use trains to move big amounts between hubs

Roads do not have that limit

From hubs you use trucks to distribute to medium sized warehouse

but the autobahn does

And then local deliveries

And Autobahns are not rare in Germany

It can work here

if you are only operating on the autobahn all you are doing is moving between major hubs
