man it really would be neat to do a modern PC build with this case. possibly tricky though
literally a faggots choice of pc. what is this a kylie minogue music video? not aged too well
wtf bro dont insult my precious hunk of plastic it means a lot to me
the early 2000s were a lawless wasteland of design
though good things have come from it also
yeah, plenty of cool shit and some unfortunate stuff. the computer graphics use of that style is often still pretty cool, futuristic... cant help but feel some of the hardware was kinda gaudy with all that plastic i mean christ
yeah for sure
but it's not design for realistic, general, everyday use
i wonder how we'll look back on design from this decade
it feels like it's reached a similar longevity and timelessness as the international style
looks quite nice in promo shots, theres definitely a character across the design, i suppose the flaws or liberal (in broad sense, not political) design choices become more apparent/glaring once you see it in a real life context
its like if a concept car went straight into production
that's a good way of describing it

s designed for the sake of designing something that looks striking instead of for the sake of fitting in with the environment it's going to be used in
yea
there's a similar thing with big architecture projects in european city centres
because the project carries a lot of prestige the architects usually seem to design very striking buildings that might be interesting on their own but don't fit in with the traditional architecture around them
there's something to say for pushing the envelope on design and architecture which you can't do if you always need to hold back to consider what's already there
I've never understood the idealist view of the 50. Everyone living in houses that looked the same eating frozen dinners
i guess what's ugly or unfitting is subjective, but sometimes it just seems outlandish designs are being made for the sake of being different rather than good or beautiful
this building is in the middle of a canal surrounded by 19th and early 20th century architecture
i don't think it's beautiful, though it is interesting in a vacuum
