I'm not really good enough to look after it

2018-07-05 09:51:34 UTC

I bought it with my stepdad to do up and maintain but he passed away a couple years ago and I've neglected it since

2018-07-05 09:52:24 UTC

the guy who bought it runs a bodyshop though so I'm sure it's gone to a good home that will get it looking perfect again

2018-07-05 09:54:34 UTC

not much left to sell now, I have an old honda cb200 that was bought yesterday and is being collected on the weekend and a ford focus that needs a cam belt

what do you make of that?

It's got the engine out of one of these

2018-07-05 10:53:28 UTC

I've always liked the manta a

2018-07-05 10:53:48 UTC

personally though I wouldn't use the calibra engine in one

2018-07-05 10:54:43 UTC

the manta a has a huge engine bay, you could probably cram in a nice ls, but I'm a jap engine fan so I'd probably go the sr or rb route on one

2018-07-05 10:55:12 UTC

the sr20 can be got cheap enough and the rb25 is still reasonable for now

2018-07-05 10:56:01 UTC

on a semi related note, I actually like the calibra but there's barely any left on the road, it's sad, kinda like the sierras they've all ended up scrapped

2018-07-05 10:56:24 UTC

though a lot of sierras got picked apart for the gearboxes

2018-07-05 11:30:42 UTC

I wish capris and mk3 2dr cortinas were affordable

Capris aren't that bad las time I looked

2018-07-05 15:25:13 UTC

capris in half decent condition are a lot of money really

2018-07-05 15:25:35 UTC

5k+ unless they need welding and/or bodyfiller

2018-07-05 15:26:08 UTC

that's a lot considering the price of some of the jap turbo options

2018-07-05 18:29:54 UTC

damn

2018-07-05 18:30:43 UTC

it's weird how most girls are just complete garbage when it comes to maintaining vehicles

2018-07-05 18:40:44 UTC

Maintaining anything mechanical

2018-07-05 18:59:37 UTC

I dunno, my ex looked after most of her stuff just not her car

2018-07-05 19:00:06 UTC

I think part of that was down to her dad doing a lot of the regular stuff for her though, I'm really not sure

2018-07-05 19:00:36 UTC

then again she also gave me her old car cause she'd left it decomposing for like 2 years and I got it back on the road

It's a tool

it's no different to a washing machine

it's a thing

OR they give it a name and treat it like a pet

but most blokes think of their car as an extension or expression of themselves

2018-07-05 19:15:53 UTC

I mean I don't really see my car as a pet or an expression, but I don't see it as a tool either

2018-07-05 19:16:01 UTC

my car for me is a source of pleasure

2018-07-05 19:16:13 UTC

thus I look after it to maintain that

2018-07-05 19:16:28 UTC

even the cars I've had that were boring to drive

2018-07-05 19:16:49 UTC

they still provided access to things that were otherwise prohibitively expensive or difficult without a car

2018-07-05 19:16:56 UTC

and so I made sure I looked after them
