I'm not really good enough to look after it
I bought it with my stepdad to do up and maintain but he passed away a couple years ago and I've neglected it since
the guy who bought it runs a bodyshop though so I'm sure it's gone to a good home that will get it looking perfect again
Seems fair
not much left to sell now, I have an old honda cb200 that was bought yesterday and is being collected on the weekend and a ford focus that needs a cam belt
what do you make of that?
It's got the engine out of one of these
I've always liked the manta a
personally though I wouldn't use the calibra engine in one
the manta a has a huge engine bay, you could probably cram in a nice ls, but I'm a jap engine fan so I'd probably go the sr or rb route on one
the sr20 can be got cheap enough and the rb25 is still reasonable for now
on a semi related note, I actually like the calibra but there's barely any left on the road, it's sad, kinda like the sierras they've all ended up scrapped
though a lot of sierras got picked apart for the gearboxes
I wish capris and mk3 2dr cortinas were affordable
Capris aren't that bad las time I looked
5k+ unless they need welding and/or bodyfiller
that's a lot considering the price of some of the jap turbo options
damn
it's weird how most girls are just complete garbage when it comes to maintaining vehicles
Maintaining anything mechanical
I dunno, my ex looked after most of her stuff just not her car
I think part of that was down to her dad doing a lot of the regular stuff for her though, I'm really not sure
then again she also gave me her old car cause she'd left it decomposing for like 2 years and I got it back on the road
It's a tool
it's no different to a washing machine
it's a thing
OR they give it a name and treat it like a pet
but most blokes think of their car as an extension or expression of themselves
I mean I don't really see my car as a pet or an expression, but I don't see it as a tool either
my car for me is a source of pleasure
thus I look after it to maintain that
even the cars I've had that were boring to drive
they still provided access to things that were otherwise prohibitively expensive or difficult without a car
and so I made sure I looked after them
