Its usually the wimpy af transmission that bottlenecks people. Shit's expensive to upgrade, but to go above 200hp its kinda necessary
I can't see any sources showing much over 200hp without using things like methanol
"stage 2 transmission"
Heavy duty tune?
What the fuck
Sigh
Is this a Need for speed game
I mean
I know thats not directly applicable for the tune
Didnt know a better term off the top of my head
There is no term
It would be a tune with more boost and leaner ratio on e85
Or e30
Point is, a one size fits all trifecta tune isnt gonna help much when you start messing with the turbo and intercooler
https://www.cruzetalk.com/forum/10-gen1-powertrain/10164-what-highest-horsepower-achieved-cruze.html a guy in that thread says the turbo is all out at 190
Or cams
190hp from intake and exhaust? That's a 70% increase in total output, I can't think of any engine where that's the case.
Wut
I said and tune
The tune being the important bit
"Yeah, about that EcoBoost engine lol
Pretty much all of them are at risk for head warpage prior to 50k miles
The cylinders have a "water cooled jacket", so they're only attached to the rest of the head at the bottom end"
Tune of what? An ECU remap?
Yes
It's called an open deck, and it's only one motor that's open deck.
Also that thread sounds about like what i was saying
190hp is easy
Above 200hp takes work
Which, tbf, isnt worth it on an econobox
I have seen people do it, but they throw tons of money at it
I might do that if i get a second car tho
at no point does it suggest 190 was easy, unfortunately the guy removed his setup from his signature but he does say he was running 33% E85 mixed with 93 gas
Also just saying. The bit that started this, with me talking about cam and turbo upgrades, was a joke.
Also i gave a range. 180 to 190. Not just 190
Tune by itself gives 39 to 50 hp iirc.
From trifecta at least.
Bnr has a less aggressive tune i think
Now maybe when i was looking this shit up before i missed details about using e85 to get those last few horses
Absolutely possible. Likely, in fact
But even 180hp is a sizeable increase in juice for just an intake, exhaust, and ecu tune
Anything beyond that is messing around for fun on an extra car. You are absolutely right in saying its probably not worth it. @LOGiK
I question the use of e85 tho.
