The leaf seems alright from what i hear.

Though cost wise i dont think i could justify it. Manual econobox beats it on cost any day.

Mine was 2014 for $9k, with 70k miles, excellent condition. 500+ mile highway range, gets 55mpg hwy (after adding a short ram intake).

Leafs in my area cost $3-4k more to get the same.

And they would be literally unworkable for me since i drive up to 120 miles in a single day sometimes

but 9k for a car is ludicrously expensive if you just want cheap motoring

my mothers old focus cost $800 ~5 years ago and did 40-45mpg

I sold it today for ~$700, though admittedly it probably cost another $400 in maintenance over the years

the replacement focus is a 2010 2.0 that cost $1800 and I hope that lasts equally long, plus without cam belts it should overall cost less

realistically though, if cheap motoring is all someone needs I've worked out it should be possible to replace your car yearly and spend no more than $400 a year on a car, if it runs for longer than a year it's a bonus

that might not be achievable in the US though
