my friend mentioned as well, the uk traditionally had less restrictions on cars

that's why the mgb in the uk originally had chrome bumpers but the us regulation imposed horrible rubber bumpers

also things like the tvr sagaris weren't us compliant

There are actually some cars that haven't been able to attempt lap records at tracks because of that sound restriction.

I can understand someone wanting a replica because it's the only way for them to own and appreciate something that looks and feels like some impossibly rare or expensive car. I wouldn't do it though. I'd rather have that remain a dream and own the real version of some more attainable car.

I saw a 912 with a Subaru conversion recently that was really well done and looked completely stock externally, that was pretty cool, and actually a reasonable daily driver.

Also something like this is an exception.

That company does all sorts of fabrication and support for real classic Ferraris, but they also built their own replica of a series 2 250 GTO from scratch and they bring it to track days and all sorts of events and actually drive it hard on track.

That's ok, because it gives people a chance to see what that would be like without all the millions at risk.

On the other hand the owner of the real 250 SWB Breadvan does the same thing, and there's only one of those and it actually is worth somewhere over 20 million.

the corvette and viper wouldn't have had any issues entering the uk market if demand existed, aside from needing things like indicators

the sagaris was missing safety features that the us requires

there are tons of uk cars that literally could not meet us standards

Also as far as production volume and years in production I doubt the total numbers of the Sagaris equal even a few months of Corvette production in any given year

the ariel atom had no abs, tc or airbags, I'm pretty sure the US mandates airbags at least

and it's probably not feasible to retrofit them to it
