That...isn't what I'm looking for
I'm looking to see if anything at all exists that prevents misshifts
At all
I'll retract my statement that started this
It was me being too certain
Ah
So lockouts do exist.
Just not exactly the way I thought
Yes, well obviously reverse lockout exists.
They're synchros
Not what I meant
Literally the first guy is talking about other lockouts on his 98 Tacoma
Obviously, not nearly the same as preventing all misshifts period
the closest thing to misshift prevention I can think of
They're talking about synchros, this is totally unrelated to the clutch pedal
Like I said
is the nissan 370z auto rev matching on a downshift
Not the way I thought it worked
but that's not really a misshift prevention
...are we talking about the same thing?
Whatever. My question was answered and i conceded
I just don't see why there would be a market need for something specifically locking shifts unless the pedal is depressed, because the assumption would be someone knows they're driving a manual transmission. Unless it's happening all the time that would be a big waste of engineering. And if someone is trying to shift without the clutch all the time they might as well just have something that actuates the clutch for them like a sequential or a dct.
The cintext was different earlier
I mean I'm talking about what you brought up, nothing in that reddit post is talking about that, it's just talking about how solenoids and synchros work, which applies to basically all modern manuals.
Originally it was about dcts built to LACK this feature actually
What?
Long story
is my discord fucking up
🤷🏿
That feel when you parked and about to get out and you are on your phone amd forget that you didnt turn the car off yet
So foot comes off the clutch, the car jerks forward and stalls and ya look like a moron
I don't usually leave my car in gear
but I also don't forget my car is running
nor am I likely to get out on the phone, my headunit has hands free and it's technically illegal here to use a phone in any capacity while the engine is running
Here in missouri its technically legal, i am just not stupid enough to di so while driving.
Normally its not a problem either. Never was with my suzuki.
The cruze is just super quiet at idle
I have actually had someone say "are you gonna start the car first?" When i put it in gear while they were riding with me. Didnt even know it was already on.
I will be honest I was using my phone all the time last time I was in the US
