My favorite layout is the V12, part of that is because it's inherently a balanced design and doesn't need any balancing shafts. Also one of the best sounding configurations, and also loads of historical significance in various forms in both motorsport and road cars.

I will be totally honest I only like the boxer 6 because it's one of the first engines I really learned about and is also one I feel I understand as a result of that.
