why the hell would you but a subaru motor in a beetle?

2018-10-08 05:30:40 UTC

especially when VW has loads of great 4-bangers that tune super easy and will make 350 wheel without opening the motor

2018-10-08 05:30:52 UTC

this is pointless sacrelige

2018-10-08 06:08:16 UTC

size/weight/reliability

2018-10-08 06:09:18 UTC

there aren't any vw 4cyls that will run 850hp with even a vague hint of reliability

2018-10-08 06:09:43 UTC

at very least the subaru engine will pretend to be reliable

2018-10-08 06:10:29 UTC

also, tuner parts availability is a lot higher for subaru engines, not that when doing something of that magnitude it's all that important

2018-10-08 06:13:19 UTC

with an 850 hp goal a rotary would be a better choice than a vw 4cyl

2018-10-08 12:23:11 UTC

Also, a similar packaging space as the original.

Subaru swaps into VWs are a dime a dozen

2018-10-08 13:13:33 UTC

2018-10-08 13:14:32 UTC

there are 1000hp Mk1 VW engines bored, stroked, solid titanium everything

2018-10-08 13:15:58 UTC

1,8L 16V KR Turbo engine GTX4202R 1013HP @ 60psi.

2018-10-08 13:53:33 UTC

Yeah, but they're not flat 4s

2018-10-08 13:54:34 UTC

Everybody and their cousin has subaru swapped VW buses and beetles around here

2018-10-08 13:55:19 UTC

It's the easiest way to mate a modern engine to a rear transaxle

2018-10-08 14:52:44 UTC

im sure by the law you are allowd to murder a person that do that and if it not it needs to be

2018-10-08 14:53:03 UTC

Woah, crazy confirmed

2018-10-08 14:59:58 UTC

The idea that the vw 4cyls running high hp and being reliable is hilarious, like i said a rotary is probably more reliable

2018-10-08 15:26:11 UTC

claiming electric cars are more environmental the normal petrol cars is a myth when you start to look in to it

2018-10-08 15:41:45 UTC

depends how many nuke reactors you have <:makes_you_think:382980749780844554>

2018-10-08 15:42:50 UTC

well Audi kinda kicked this shit off with the big car builders seeings as TESLA hasen't collapsed yet

2018-10-08 15:47:20 UTC

my biggest objection is the battery. they are far from environmental to produce and almost impossible to recycle atm. we are just a few year from seeing a flood of Gen 1 Tesla`s that the battery is done for.

It's never been a fucking Toyota.

2018-10-09 03:32:22 UTC

Lol

2018-10-09 03:32:42 UTC

Idk why Toyota are doing this

2018-10-09 03:37:50 UTC

Take 86 platform, stretch it a bit, and stick a Toyota V6 in it

2018-10-09 03:38:08 UTC

With twin turbos

2018-10-09 03:38:15 UTC
