Self defense preferably. I wanna get good at aiming and such which judging by my experience at firing ranges I suck at. Can’t even hit a target with a shotgun.

I know this isn't exactly firearms related but to give you an idea of our fucked self defence laws: A man and his family (wife and young kids) were held hostage in their own home unbeknowst to their neighbours while their captor tortured them and told them his plans to kill them. The father managed to get free and killed their captor. The crown then attempted to prosecute him for murder.
