sometimes
i handload
stuff like a garand you can't get proper .30-06 for
modern loads fuck the guide rod
Yeah, they work it way too hard
You can open up the gas system though.
got a 1903 that was made during ww2 that handles modern loads fine though
so just shoot it new in a bolt
reload it for a semi
Huh
What do you reload it to for the garand, WWII spec?
depends on the powder i am using
just figure maybe .3-.5 lower than min spec in a manual
may not be perfect but it works for me
Does it feel right?
it cycles and i rarely shoot it so meh
mainly the long guns i shoot are ar's
not a fan of heavy recoiling rifles
would rather do barn burners in pistols
I heard somewhere that you can open up the gas system on the Garand using some aftermarket parts and run modern ammo fine
but as a collector i wouldn't do that
too easy to custom build an ar
That has the good shit
M2 ball is fucking weird
meh
a lot of rounds do weird stuff
Yeah, it's weird on the level that it was designed to be ballistically inefficient, to a degree.
not sure about .30-06 on that
but intermediate cartridges sure get funky
They mention it at 2:09 in the vid
Bureaucracy and all that
i'm going to pass on the cvid
i know more about modern rounds
No worries, just want you to have all the options
if i load old stuff it's just for fun
trying to find some m955a1 pulls though
m855a1*
things are stupid pricey though
Yeah, they're an odd round
