You can thank the ATF for that.
Thank William Hughes for that
He should be hung for treason against the constitution
If I can't get a class 3 firearm, I'm cool having an AR with 30 round magazines.
Dream bigger

Opinion invalid
I like AR15s and M240s. The M249 is a piece of trash
Your opinion is worth the dirt I step on
The M240 is a bit heavy for me personally. I may need to start hitting the gym more often.
A .22LR rifle to practice, theres lots of different good ones out there
You can also hunt small animals with it
cease this
cease what
You know.. I wonder how long it's going to take gun control advocates to notice that Airguns witch Suppressors, designed to Kill Elk, are no regulated as fire arms at all. And that both Civilian ownership of Military grade flamethrowers is also unregulated, and Civilian Ownership of functional Military Tanks is only partially regulated.
Or if they make acquisition of firearms more expensive and difficult how many of the Crazies are going to notice that Mustard Gas Bombs can be made dirt cheap. "Hrmm.. wait months and months and spend thousands of dollars for one riffle. Or spend twenty boxes and make enough DIY Mustard gas bombs to kill a few thousand."
Didn't Australia ban airsoft?
In a weird way. Legal gun ownership distracts from noticing cheaper, and more devasting options. Just because the DIY element.
I don't know about Australia just talking about the US.
Technically speaking. Not counting money. It's easier and quicker to start driving a tank around wielding a Flame thrower and what's essentially a Suppressed Sniper riffle. Then to buy one average quality hunting riffle legally.

Meant for hunting Big Game. But totally unregulated. Why it's allowed to have a Suppressor because compressed gas propels the bullet instead of an contained explosion.
Do suppressors make guns more dangerous?
Sure a Traditional Firearm and out perform it no doubt. But point is. Decent range. And can kill a person just as easily too.
No.
Suppressors just reduce noise of the gun being fired. IE so it does less damage to your ear drums and safer to fire.
As for the myth that a Silencer or Suppressor can make a gun 100% silent like in movies and video games. Total Bullshit.
@DanielKO By the progressives measure, since it requires more regulation, yes.
Kinda like how just shooting a gas tank of a car makes it explode like unstable Nitroglycerin.
```
A typical gunshot is around 150-160 decibels, a level that can cause hearing damage. Suppressors can reduce that sound by around 20-30 decibels, depending on the gun, ammunition, temperature and even humidity.
[...]
It’s important to note that suppressors are intended to lower the sound for the shooter, not the target. Jeremy Mallette, who has researched suppressors for Silencer Shop, estimated the sound of suppressed gunfire would go up 10 to 15 decibels downrange -- making the impact of the suppressor even lower for those on the receiving end.```
So they make the sound louder for the target.
