I don't know why people are freaking out about 3D printed guns.

Anyone could make a Pipe-gun if they wanted, the real question is __why__. If there isn't incentive it won't happen.

3D printing? yea you need the printer, the materials (which typically won't hold up to what it needs for a bullet being fired)

You could mould the parts from Alluminium once you have the wooden parts though. Why didn't they? (You can see the wood-grain)

Use the wooden cutouts to make a mould in sand. Then pour molten Alluminium over the mould

You'd have to polish the cast Allumimium, but it would be very inexpensive if you recycled Drinks cans.
