this run is a xenophile run

I'm Xenophile Spiritualist Egalitarian for this run
sounds extra gay
if you were pacisfist, that's how it could even more gay
ok I have to share this
this was just insane
@Deleted User this run got intense very quickly
copy pasting what I sent to mate a few minutes ago
I just fought the single most intense battle I have ever fought and probably will ever fight in Stellaris
so the Stellarite Devourer was near me from the start of the game, about 8ish jumps away from my capital
no biggie, aside from the FIghter and Bomber Corps and a few stray construction and science ships commiting suicide every now and again
so I'm talking to the curators, even though I'm in a war, I haven't had a fight yet because we're on opposite sides of the galaxy, I've been building up my fleet and I'm sitting at about 700 fleet size (about 200 ships I want to say?) with 60k-ish in fleet strength, and the curators go "yeah you can probably bust her up a bit righto mate" and I think to myself, jeez, can't go that badly, let's get me admiral some experience
so I jump my fleet in, and we're doing damage get about 1/6th of it's health down before I decide the fleet isn't going to last much longer, so I pull it out
fleet limps back to one of my colonies, one jump away from my capital. I tell it to get back to the capital, because that's where I was churning out PD destroyers at the time and it'd be easier to merge the fleet there.
and thank god I told it to get back to the capital
because little did I know
the Stellarite Devourer can get angry
and leave the system it spawned in
and lucky me, 5 days after jumping my fleet back into my home system, gets this message
"a Hostile Stellarite Devourer Fleet is heading towards the Lagragaan System!"
so
I'm *fucked*
and I mean fucked
my fleet when it was 60k-ish did 1/6th of it's health, and that fleet is now crippled and with 38k power (and only 94 ships)
so
the fight is on
the survival of my empire is on the line
my admiral (who is now a 4 star admiral after the previous engagement) is apparently bloodlusted and wants revenge too, so as soon as the Stellarite Devourer pops into the system he's already on a war path
and then it happens
my saviour
the AI empire I was at war with, jumps into my home system, behind the Stellarite Devourer
their fleet is only 15k, but it's in close quarters, and is made up almost entirely out of destroyers and corvettes, so the humbers game is on their side
so my fleet now has a chance. we're no longer being picked at by long distance as much, we can get into the engagement zone and turn all our strike craft and turbolasers on that thing
and then I had a brainwave
I remembered that I had been commisioning several Venator class Star Destroyers from other planets, who didn't have a fleet to rally to when my fleet was MIA
so I pause the game, and tell 8 Venators to haul ass to the Lagragaan System
I also had a small fleet of Assault Frigate MKI Dreadnoughts (Dreadnought Cruisers that were retrofitted with Nebulon-B parts, they look freakin amazing, better than the Assault Frigate MKII) that were waiting for orders, so I told 14 Assault Dreadnoughts to get over there ASAP
factoring those in, I had another 10k-ish to play with, mostly from the 8 Venators
it's still looking bad
the Stellarite Devourer has lost about 1/5th health when the fucking Lokken Mechanists (empire that a friend created, was fortunate enough to find in this single player game) jump in with a 20k fleet, and they're not even in the war with me, they just have sensor data. which means that they saw this thing about to ravage my home system and thought "can't be having that, they've got better tech than I do, and they give me research grants" and got their fleet over there to help
at this point the battle has been waging for 2 months
during that time, a fresh wave of Venators had rolled off the line at my 12 spaceports, and I'm dead broke
they slowly trickle into the system and either engage the Stellarite Devourer head on because it's where they jumped in from, or join the main fleet and bombard from a relatively safe distance
after the most nerve racking 3 months I've ever had in Stellaris, the thing finally dies
and now, the remnants of the Robot Empire's fleet engages what's left of mine
because having a break is for chumps
I come out on top, barely, thanks to my spaceport chipping in when they got into range (my fleet was still near the centre of the system, the Stellarite Devourer was about halfway to it when it died)
it took me over half an hour to fight that engagement
I've never been so terrified in my life lmao
and to add onto that, it was only the year 2238
Jesus fuck @nic
Sounds extremely clutch
It was
I was sweatin man
I didn't know the devourer could actually come after you, but I never really engaged it that early
