I'm mad at paradox
>release a broken update that cripples the game, and removes features that players loved, and that update has a $60 price tag to make it playable
>The phrase "TO DO" comes up hundreds of times in the code, meaning that they knew they had to do it but couldn't be bothered to fix it before release
>Go silent for a month
>Community points out all the flaws and is mildly infuriated at them, but are incredibly polite over it because they just want it fixed
>Paradox releases a statement saying that they've suffered from so much abuse and vitriol and now they don't have the passion to fix their broken product
>Huge swaths of the community buy this and start circle jerking about how rude and toxic everyone was being to the Devs
>Anyone who disagrees with paradox's statement is ironically enough subjected to vitriol and hate
>The game is still broken
Rest in Peace Stellaris, you died well and truly before your time. I'm gonna miss you
I haven't even played the most recent update, because I literally cannot. It crashes for me because my laptop is shite
I haven't played Stellaris in 2 months, and given paradox's attitude, it's going to be a few more months before I even touch a new update
I'll be reverting my game back to 2.2 for sure
They lost 2/5ths of their active players in just 1 month, which is completely insane
I'm actually pretty upset over this as Stellaris was one of my favorite games, but paradox has neutered it and it looks like the community behind it is in a civil war over it

2019-01-11 04:50:01 UTC

Um. What is broken? I have seen the updates with 2 and seem fine to me. Granted people wanted diplomacy updates.

2019-01-11 04:50:41 UTC

You having a shit laptop isnt gripablr offense

2019-01-11 04:50:46 UTC

the crisises are broken, the AI is broken, the AI doesn't use the market, the AI doesn't use ship commands, Hive minds die, pops cannot be purged

2019-01-11 04:50:52 UTC

that's just off the top of my head

2019-01-11 04:51:02 UTC

Ah

2019-01-11 04:51:07 UTC

all of these things worked in 2.2
which means that they *broke* them in 2.3, and couldn't be arsed to fix this

2019-01-11 04:51:14 UTC

the game is also noticiably slower

2019-01-11 04:51:21 UTC

I could play 2.2, I cannot play 2.3, and I am not alone

2019-01-11 04:51:23 UTC

@nic wtf happened

2019-01-11 04:51:35 UTC

Slower =/= worse if gameplay wise

2019-01-11 04:51:39 UTC

paradox did a retarded and blamed it on toxicitiy

2019-01-11 04:51:52 UTC

when the game is freezing 10 years in that is objectively worse

2019-01-11 04:52:01 UTC

I'm not surprised

2019-01-11 04:52:18 UTC

people with good computers are quitting because they can't play unless they set aside several hours to get through a decade

2019-01-11 04:52:19 UTC

Ah most people mean slower as in "the game evolves slower" ect

2019-01-11 04:52:33 UTC

Martin blamed people not liking the militarist voice as "muh soggy knee"

2019-01-11 04:52:40 UTC

no, the game is just slower
as in, it freezes constantly

2019-01-11 04:52:50 UTC

All the youtubers i watch seem to not have issues

2019-01-11 04:52:51 UTC

the militarist voice is shit and it would still be shit if it was a man

2019-01-11 04:53:34 UTC

I know a lot of people were just salty 2.3 wasnt a diplomacy update.

2019-01-11 04:54:11 UTC

for valid reasons
instead of fixing diplomacy, they decided to rework the entire game and broke most of the features players loved

2019-01-11 04:54:16 UTC

that's a pretty good reason to be salty

2019-01-11 04:54:45 UTC

But iirc they were going to work diplomacy next, because 2.3 was a complete rework. So i could understand holding off on diplomacy for a little bit.

2019-01-11 04:55:13 UTC

I stopped playing stellaris because I couldn't be asked to wait for all my mods to update or not

2019-01-11 04:55:51 UTC

when I get a better PC I'm going to revert to 2.2 and mod the shit out of it

2019-01-11 04:56:10 UTC

I won't be touching a new update until paradox owns their shit and fixes things instead of claiming "muh toxcitiy"

2019-01-11 05:06:37 UTC

I'm disappointed that they chose to be retarded

2019-01-11 05:50:31 UTC

Is anyone watching the current implosion of Blizzard, or the news on Bungie?

2019-01-11 16:17:01 UTC

the game is definantly slower than before and I cant play without mods that fix that. And the markets fuck the whole game, so I just downloaded a mod that removed the trade routes so I have no lag. Crises like the prethoreon are fucked because they cant destroy planets. Purging is slow as fuck to when I wont even go to War unless I can destroy the planets.

2019-01-11 16:17:26 UTC

They rushed the update to get it out before christmas so everyone could go on break

2019-01-11 16:18:01 UTC

I still love the game, But there are some major problems. But I must say that I prefer 2.2 to the earlier updates.

2019-01-11 16:22:13 UTC

@nic Get the robot build 4x faster and biologicals grow 2 Times faster. And the mod that remove trade routes. would definantly make the game playable and fun.

2019-01-11 16:22:23 UTC

Problem is the fucking Crisises.

2019-01-11 16:22:47 UTC

If you want I could ask some mates if they can make a mod that makes purging faster too.

2019-01-11 16:30:22 UTC

Also, playing long instead of tall is really irritating. I hate micromanaging like 50 planets because the AI sucks ass.
