The real question is: Would they get this upset over hammer and sickle signs, flags, emotes and whatnot? I really don't think so and that is kind of weird right?
It's down to the demographics on the game. eg: In StarCraft you get super nerds that don't like rudeness so you HAVE to say gg at the end of the game, it's in the rules.
