Went to culinary school for half a year before realizing it was a dead end field.

https://imgur.com/gallery/k5m0IDx pictures released of the just found carrier USS hornet
whoa, thats pretty cool
Im surprised it stayed whole like that.
Looks like it skid to a hault on the bottom too
i think the shadow is especially neat
Wasn't it scuttled?
They did find the original USS Hornet that did sink in the aftermath of the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands after she was crippled by the Japanese
Was she one of the ones hit by kamakazi's or was that too early in the war?
she was abandoned after they did cripple her water pumps by a torpedo and several armour piercing bombs did destroy her flight deck. but she did not sink before after the main battle, she was a tough bugger
*Speaking of aerial attacks on Naval vessels....*
How about that USS Liberty incident?
Friendly fire happens all the time in warfare
lol 'friendly fire' is your buddy accidentally shooting you in the back from poor muzzle discipline, or being surprised in an intense situation.
Fighter jets firing on the only military vessel in hundreds of miles with an American flag flying above it, after circling it for a good 45min is not 'friendly fire'.
@galesteppes Thoughts on the Liberty incident?
They thought it was an Egyptian ship
It didn't even have an american flag
@Fitzydog you af boys all know a thing or two about friendly fire
US is far from innocent on the Friendly fire thing. like when they did shell a hospital that was market on all the maps and had a big red cross on the roof for 45 minutes
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-10-03/hospital-hit-three-staff-killed-in-bombing-of-afghan-city-kunduz/6825480
Because the taliban is using human shield like hamas
in this case that was disproven by the video feed from the aircraft doing the shelling
Why would America bomb a hospital then ?
It won't bomb it without a reason
pentagon did not have an answer for that question either
American intelligence stronk
Generals don't plan bombings.
A team of lawyers do.
Also, I find it hard to imagine that anyone could mistake an American warship for an Egyptian one
