2018-07-06 15:28:27 UTC

2018-07-06 15:28:27 UTC

2018-07-06 15:28:30 UTC

what are we doing

2018-07-06 15:28:31 UTC

How can you corner me out of the market?

2018-07-06 15:28:36 UTC

the alt-right claim this place is an echo chamber

2018-07-06 15:28:38 UTC

STOP DISAGREEING

2018-07-06 15:28:58 UTC

so what stops me from making my own distribution network?

2018-07-06 15:29:12 UTC

anyhoo, would like to continue participating in this, but gotta go pass out. Try not to kill each other

2018-07-06 15:29:13 UTC

Contracts

2018-07-06 15:29:25 UTC

night reapsie

2018-07-06 15:29:38 UTC

If you own the distributers you contract the sales companies to work with only you

2018-07-06 15:29:50 UTC

new business can never really get off the ground

2018-07-06 15:30:11 UTC

You realize 90% of glasses are made and sold by one company

2018-07-06 15:30:18 UTC

~~tbh oligopolies are a bigger problem than monopolies~~

2018-07-06 15:30:19 UTC

just under many names

2018-07-06 15:30:26 UTC

but if you're running your business and overpricing your glasses, I could offer a better deal to your distributors

2018-07-06 15:31:06 UTC

the big company could just trump your price to the distributor

2018-07-06 15:31:08 UTC

Some have tried that

2018-07-06 15:31:09 UTC

@Ruggwain oligaopolies run into the same problem as monopolies

2018-07-06 15:31:31 UTC

oakley did, until that distributer bought the majority of their stock

2018-07-06 15:32:30 UTC

You can walk into say a vision works. see 90 odd brands all owned or majority owned by 1 comany including visionworks itself.

2018-07-06 15:33:02 UTC

you should look into it. It is interesting stuff

2018-07-06 15:33:24 UTC

the way they took over the industry

2018-07-06 15:34:01 UTC

the only reason they arnt a *monopoly* is online, and the way the ownership is done. As well as free sales companies

2018-07-06 15:34:25 UTC

But while that happens not full monopolies like microsoft are hit.

2018-07-06 15:34:35 UTC

did you even watch AA's video?

2018-07-06 15:34:49 UTC

2018-07-06 15:55:47 UTC

I buy my glasses for like $20/pr from Zenni who has them made in China, and then the lenses ground in California.

There's alternatives out there.

2018-07-06 16:02:13 UTC

20$

2018-07-06 16:11:42 UTC

@Ruggwain Yeah, Zenni optical. They last about 6months of hard use, and I can buy several at a time. No need to worry about breaking or losing them that much.

2018-07-06 16:17:41 UTC

Lol.

they really can't decide whether the founding fathers were white slave trading warlords or if they were immigrants
