Basically, most things stayed the same as nafta

2018-12-08 08:09:57 UTC

Only changes to it

2018-12-08 08:10:03 UTC

Are beneficial to the US

2018-12-08 08:10:18 UTC

Dairy restrictions and tariffs are getting eased

2018-12-08 08:10:33 UTC

The tarrifs look the same on dairy

2018-12-08 08:10:36 UTC

The steel and aluminum tariff trump imposed in may stays

2018-12-08 08:10:44 UTC

77 cents or more per kg.

2018-12-08 08:10:54 UTC

Or liter

2018-12-08 08:13:02 UTC

The tariffs aren't applied as simply as such h

2018-12-08 08:14:50 UTC

Steel is showing zeros for us and canada

2018-12-08 08:14:57 UTC

Im many many forms

2018-12-08 08:15:46 UTC

Im reading the actual agreement. No spin.

2018-12-08 08:16:47 UTC

500 plus pages of goods so.... search is your friend

2018-12-08 08:19:06 UTC

steel and aluminum tariff wasnt a part of this agreement

2018-12-08 08:19:22 UTC

it was imposed to force this negotiation to even begin

2018-12-08 08:20:18 UTC

Yes but this agreement would superceed that UNLESS it was a sanction and not a tarriff.

2018-12-08 08:20:27 UTC

it does not supercede it

2018-12-08 08:20:37 UTC

the tariffs are still up

2018-12-08 08:20:38 UTC

The thing is this has to be verified via congress

2018-12-08 08:20:46 UTC

ik

2018-12-08 08:20:48 UTC

Its not effective on the us side yet

2018-12-08 08:21:05 UTC

Once it is. It supperceeds it and those tarriffs vanish

2018-12-08 08:21:14 UTC

it still would not supercede it because the article of NAFTA used to impose the tariff is still in place

2018-12-08 08:21:30 UTC

we did not negotiate to close the article

2018-12-08 08:21:35 UTC

iirc article 232 or something

2018-12-08 08:21:36 UTC

No cause nafta is superceeded by this

2018-12-08 08:21:50 UTC

The same article exists in here

2018-12-08 08:22:26 UTC

The thing is. Saying "it stands regardless is a mosnomer if it hasnt even been ratified in the us yet

2018-12-08 08:22:36 UTC

Cause this isnt even official yet here

2018-12-08 08:22:44 UTC

i understand

2018-12-08 08:22:53 UTC

but we have zero guarantee that Trump will remove the tariff

2018-12-08 08:22:58 UTC

since it wasnt even mentioned

2018-12-08 08:23:07 UTC

You can complain if it is still there after congress ratifies

2018-12-08 08:23:21 UTC

I will ceed it then.

2018-12-08 08:23:30 UTC

i can complain about how no action was taken to remove it

2018-12-08 08:24:00 UTC

Tbh its probably trump holding it to ensure t dog doesnt back out

2018-12-08 08:24:13 UTC

Similar to any against mexico

2018-12-08 08:24:29 UTC

Especially with mexico having a new pres

2018-12-08 08:24:57 UTC

you can amend article 232 in USMCA so it automatically eliminates the tariff once all sides ratifies the agreement
