but also, handily they're right on the border with mexico, and have a massive series of ports for international trade

so they'd be in a great spot to accept as much immigration from all over the world as they want

and frankly, if it's a good idea, then we'd be able to see that it's working there, and if it's destroying them, then everyone knows it's a bad idea
