I think that was the original idea behind crypto - to evade the state

so I can certainly understand the whole idea behind banning it

There were many reasons tbh. More had to do with banking systems. But the illigal activities and taxation evasion soured it. Otherwise i wouldnt doubt if the state attempted to fold it into the currency portfolio of the nation
