Brexit is but a step in the right direction, not the finish line.

2019-03-09 20:05:55 UTC

as long as you have the chain of EU around UK neck they cant improve

2019-03-09 20:05:56 UTC

eu in itself is not a bad idea, the problem is the bureaucracy that answers to no one that has appeared

2019-03-09 20:06:18 UTC

they wanted to do too much too fast

2019-03-09 20:06:19 UTC

Actually the EU in itself is a horrid Idea. Read the founding documents

2019-03-09 20:06:28 UTC

It was broken from the beginning

2019-03-09 20:06:55 UTC

Unless your "Idea" of what the EU was meant to be is the romanticized BS that was spoon fed to people, and some still believe

2019-03-09 20:07:05 UTC

EU was made to make a united states of Europe with a unelected ruling class like back when we did have kings

2019-03-09 20:07:10 UTC

since people did not mingle enough to make federazation possible, they brought in the "new europeans" to make a new "master race"

2019-03-09 20:07:47 UTC

if they have done it in lets say a 100 years, made it possible for real political blocks to form naturally

2019-03-09 20:07:59 UTC

that actually represent the people of europe

2019-03-09 20:08:13 UTC

I spit on people who compare the EU to the US. As fundamentally they are opposites. the US was built to be bottom up, where the EU was built top down.

2019-03-09 20:08:16 UTC

then europe would become a political powerhouse of the world

2019-03-09 20:08:22 UTC

@desert hamster Federalization is impossible in Europe

2019-03-09 20:08:40 UTC

problems comes that EU is running out of time. they did not have a 100 years to wait, now they don't have 10 years

2019-03-09 20:08:42 UTC

Yea Europe is far to devided to be federalized.

2019-03-09 20:09:12 UTC

@desert hamster Do you think America had 50 states and stretched across the whole continent before we became a nation?

2019-03-09 20:09:18 UTC

And the EU adopted far to many socialistic/protectionist ideals to survive a European Federalization.

2019-03-09 20:09:25 UTC

even Germany is having huge problems keeping it together

2019-03-09 20:09:54 UTC

@Fitzydog well it did have roughly 13...>_>

2019-03-09 20:09:58 UTC

@Fitzydog yes, that is why integration should have been slowed until people felt a real sense of belonging to europe

2019-03-09 20:10:09 UTC

But the key was the Nation was founded Bottom Up.

2019-03-09 20:10:19 UTC

@desert hamster Wait, what?

2019-03-09 20:10:29 UTC

ok, let me explain

2019-03-09 20:10:30 UTC

india

2019-03-09 20:10:31 UTC

With the flow of power. Granted that became muttled post Civil war.

2019-03-09 20:10:37 UTC

has 1.3 billion people

2019-03-09 20:10:43 UTC

china has 1.4 i think

2019-03-09 20:10:50 UTC

the US was united in less then 100 years. a 100 years in Europe is a blink of an eye in the history books

2019-03-09 20:10:50 UTC

usa has 350 million

2019-03-09 20:11:01 UTC

I feel like people who think Europe can be a federation like the US, aren't familiar with US history

2019-03-09 20:11:09 UTC

european nations have 50-60 million

2019-03-09 20:11:13 UTC

largers ones at least

2019-03-09 20:11:17 UTC

Or with European for that matter @Fitzydog

2019-03-09 20:11:18 UTC

they need to stand united

2019-03-09 20:11:21 UTC

It's not a numbers game dude

2019-03-09 20:11:34 UTC

It's a culture thing

2019-03-09 20:11:38 UTC

i know

2019-03-09 20:11:44 UTC

No, you don't lol

2019-03-09 20:11:54 UTC

that is why i think a federation at this time is not possible

2019-03-09 20:12:05 UTC

Europe have over 3000 years of history, that is not something that goes away easy
