What I would imagine would happen is Macron staying in charge with minimal popularity, basically like the last term of Hollande, and getting voted out in the next elections.The problem with the Yellow vest movement, and why it won't be going anywhere, is that it's completely decentralised and with no leadership. There's no one that acts as the spokesperson, and everyone demands different things, the protests are just going to die off eventually, though the movement will continue to exist

you only need to make the chaos so big that the system stop working and you will have hell loose

The system won't come crashing down because of stuff like this, it requires a nation wide revolution to completely stop the nation, quite like the 1968 protests.
