πŸ€” it's like 20 yards

I'd be worried if she didn't make it lol

so how has she vanished?

did she go for milk and cigarettes?

or she went and didn't say so?

2018-10-21 12:55:33 UTC

just got talking to my mum

2018-10-21 12:55:42 UTC

women chatting Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―

But what if Rose and Finn had succeeded in turning off the Snokemobile's shielding, and that was the reason Holdo's jump worked? Easy thing to write in to justify such a history-breaking decision.

2018-10-21 13:06:33 UTC

"The shields are down"
"that's great hackerman but we need to find their tracker"
"It's harder than it looks"

2018-10-21 13:06:39 UTC

three lines

2018-10-21 13:07:46 UTC

You know how shit shields are in SW right
There is no way a ship could survive being hit by something with Lightspeed if it had shields up

2018-10-21 13:07:55 UTC

***it's something***

2018-10-21 13:08:02 UTC

It's why they need navicomputers

2018-10-21 13:08:15 UTC

Because otherwise they wouldn't have to worry about hitting a planet or a star

2018-10-21 13:08:29 UTC

Because they'd just bounce right off and no damage would happen

2018-10-21 13:08:33 UTC

I read something that unless you intentionally switch it off there are like, safety mechanisms that would prevent lightspeed rammning

2018-10-21 13:08:43 UTC

near gravity wells, any lightspeed would shut off

2018-10-21 13:08:50 UTC

to bad the hacker man was a betrayer that did sell them out and was able to give the empire secrets that only admiral genderstudies did know and the ship they did use to leave the planet of gambler was not a rebel ship as that was blown up

2018-10-21 13:08:53 UTC

Yeet

2018-10-21 13:09:01 UTC

Instead what happens is your ship gets destroyed by the gravitational forces surrounding the planet and you break up in atmosphere

2018-10-21 13:09:21 UTC

I mean, we've seen star destroyers hovering inside atmospheres

2018-10-21 13:10:16 UTC

Hovering inside atmosphere is not at all similar to having your ship torn apart while it's at its weakest before it can even enter atmosphere, and then the surviving chunks traveling at huge speeds still

2018-10-21 13:10:37 UTC

those chunks would still do some real damage

2018-10-21 13:10:39 UTC

A ship traveling at light speed doesn't get to atmosphere
It's destroyed before it happens

2018-10-21 13:10:45 UTC

side note, looks like the new canon comics revisited Jedha

2018-10-21 13:10:48 UTC

damn

2018-10-21 13:11:09 UTC

Oh yeah for sure they would do damage
Hence why they have navicomputers

2018-10-21 13:11:35 UTC

I'm just pointing out that when shit goes bad, the ship is destroyed by natural forces before it can hit anything at light speed

2018-10-21 13:11:58 UTC

And most of the debris would be burnt up in atmosphere, partially due to the speed, but mostly due to their size

2018-10-21 13:12:13 UTC

Well, I think that due to the speed it'd make it to the surface

2018-10-21 13:13:14 UTC

Chunks would, sure
And they'd leave craters, mostly small but still craters
But the ship is torn apart at a microscopic level due to the speed and the forces acting on it

2018-10-21 13:13:38 UTC

It was such an awesome movie, I wish it could be properly justified with the lore

2018-10-21 13:13:41 UTC

*move

2018-10-21 13:14:03 UTC

Like, what could be visually cooler than a lightspeed ram right through a ship 60km wide

2018-10-21 13:14:13 UTC

but there was so much dumb in that movovoie

2018-10-21 13:15:03 UTC

Funnily enough, I think the simpler solution would have looked infinitely cooler

2018-10-21 13:15:08 UTC

?

2018-10-21 13:15:13 UTC

Gayyayayayayayayayayay?

2018-10-21 13:15:56 UTC

Ram with the Raddus at high sublight speed, and then blow the ship up when it's embedded in the heard of the Supremacy
