i always thought the hellen keller story was more about her teacher anyway @Fitzydog
@Angus actually the south originally didnt want independance and tried to avoid war.
The first cause of the civila was was the north wanted to tax southern exports more because they were seposidly benefiting from a lack of labor costs. (Granted taling care of a slave costed more than northerner salaries at the time)
Southerners basically fought against this until it came to succession. The war was over states rights. Lincoln being a federalist was against states right to secceed.
As for "service guarantees citizenship" actually both sides allowed slaves to fight to get freedom. The keys were the north was more populated, gaining irish settlers on mass, and so on.
so you're saying Lincoln had it coming?
Then immediately following the civil war during the reconstruction period the greatist farce of our nation began being passed, as the federalists cemented the federal gov as the overwhelming power
Lincoln did some good things. The freeing of the slaves was one. But lincolns federalism was an issue
it's still a far sight from what's being taught
But freeing the slaves had been in congress since the countries founding tbh
A massive point that is always missed in schools
isn't state's rights just a neonazi buzzword? <:NPC:500042735617703967>
yes, it's the cousin of nationalism
spooky stuff

That's a lot of interesting knowledge I will never need
Still interesting
it might come in handy in an argument
also thanks @Goblin_Slayer_Floki it's hard to research something casually when it's essentially been turned into newspeak
just hide the facts under many layers of bullshit, and you wont know what to know, and youll question the facts just as much as the hyperbole
Well the 14th admend was the federalist gold star.
Oh, btw both sides attempted to recruit natives to fight for them with the promise of giving them more land, essentually freeing them from the oklahoma mandate. And so they fought for both sides like the blacks. Granted at a higher rate for southerners since they held a great distrust for the union.
Several native tribes held slaves as well lol
oh shit, is that tommy?
slavery was the style back then
The civil war could have been avoided and savery ended had everyone kept their cool, change my mind
Of course, white man still had to abolish slavery
Slavery would be avoided if we just listened to Locke
a lot of things could have been avoided if everyone kept their cool
which is scary because right now people aren't really keeping their cool as much as they should
I imagine the left and right like an emotionally disturbed person with a loaded gun sobbing and waving it around, while a cop has his gun pointed at him saying "PUT IT DOWN!"
pretty much
