the village I lived in was literally the last place in the country for BT to install ADSL

i was still on dialup while some people were getting fibre installed

Dial up is more or less dead here

Everything is dsl or up

even worse

I live just outside a telecoms monopoly area

so while other providers can supply me

they've got literally no interest

Well tbh declaring that doesnt really help.

the government is subsidising a fibre rollout

but because the monopoly company can technically supply fibre to me (at £65/m for <70mb fibre) BT have no interest in moving into my town

so I can have 18mb DSL for £20/m or ~50mb fibre for £65/m
