I know
Britain is an island
Ireland is a separate island
Sure there's enthic overlap but there is a stark distinction culturally
Culturally how?
Ireland is mostly germanic and increasingly so, but their native language is not so. There is still that major difference though
Vague differences in pronunciation
"Ireland is mostly Germanic"
No
What does this even mean?
Germanic is referring to language groups. Most of them speak english which is a germanic language
Also over 90% of the population of Ireland speaks English as a first language
It's not a considerable difference
Not huge, but considerable
Watch Edward Dutton's video on irish iq
One interesting idea is the theory that the irish have mediterranean origin which would explain the difference in Irish people being more happy and cheerful and the english being known for being depressed and having dark sense of humor
And so on for the contrasts between northern and southern european characteristics
The Irish seem really bitchy in my experience while the English seem funny
But maybe it's just anecdotes
They aren't related to Mediteranneans beyond the typical relation between Europeans but they did historically migrate to the peninsula
In the video he suspects there is a small percentage from spain due to trade and this can be seen in the population of swarthy irishmen
Euh
I disagree
